On Tuesday I took my sister to the London Aquarium, and reminded myself how much I really don’t enjoy the half term holidays anymore. Everywhere was over-run with children, argh! The train to Liverpool Street was already packed by the time we go on it, not that I mind too much as I will probably end up a commuter at some point in my life! As for the queue at the aquarium, an hour and a half, but thanks to the great British weather it was a very cold hour and a half! Never mind, once we were finally in the aquarium its fair to say we had fun, I let the child in me out and got adventurous and stroked a starfish, I know how to have fun!! So after that we went on a little adventure, because I’m so used to getting the Underground everywhere I didnt realise how close everything was, we ended up walking from the Embankment up Horse Guards Parade, down the Mall to get a quick glimpse of Buckingham Palace, through to Picadilly Circus and up Regents Street to Oxford Circus, now for someone who has been to London many times before, I felt like such a tourist doing that. And at the end of the day we figured my sister isn’t cut out to be a London-ite, fighting people to get on the tube and all the busy streets, maybe its just me then!

I clearly watch too many adverts on the tv, but this one really caught my design eye, so I thought I would share it with you. However if you haven’t seen it already, I don’t believe you!!! Another great advert from Coca Cola.

Another project from year two, first semester. The task, to create a range of packaging that promotes sustainable fishing whilst utilising the tool of photography on the final pieces. I am really proud of these pieces and the way they turned out. As before with my book, the final made pieces are very precious so I will add a picture of those when I upload the book. But this is an idea of what they look like.

Ok, so as promised here is some of the work I have been working on as part of the second year, first semester of my degree. We were given a project to re-design the corporate identity for the London Overground, as well as produce a booklet or broadsheet and three adverts to feature along the line. As my book that I made is very precious to me, I will upload pictures of that later on, but in the mean time take a look at the broadsheet and the posters.

Ok, I’m completely new to this whole concept of ‘blogging’ but I thought I should probably keep up with the times and create one of my own. Everyone knows the Internet is a great place to self-publicise and as a graphic design student that is exactly what I need to do, other wise next September I will just become another graduate without a job. So what I plan to do is use this breakthrough technology (well it is in my world anyway) to show you what I have done as a design student and work from the pro’s that I think is great. But you will have to be a bit patient with me while I get used to working with this alien technology, and fingers crossed I will have some work on here soon enough!
