“I sat on London’s Circle line from 5am until gone midnight, photographing the seat in front of me at every stop. Interestingly not a single person questioned me, nor tried to stop me, nor moved to an empty seat elsewhere in the carriage.

The mute gesturing of my Circle-line companions that day became the material for this alternative guide book – offering the user a light-hearted approach to face behavior in London and encouragement to observe the city dwellers in the same manner as the landmarks.”

I like the idea of documenting life going by through the means of photography and compiling a book out of the findings. Photography is not my first point of interest but this book still inspires a lot of creative thoughts and could possibly relate to my final project.

During reading week I was on work experience and ended up attending a meeting with Unilever about their Ben and Jerrys account. This sparked my memory of something I saw in the Everything Is Made D&AD annual. This 3D advertising for Ben and Jerrys was created by Oglivy and Mather Singapore. I think it is very innovative and engaging and even as a 2D print, the essence of a three-dimensional set up is still present.

“In every generation Volkswagen has found solutions for the mobility needs of its time. The “Think Blue. Symphony” is the brand new TV spot which illustrates in a playful way the respective milestones on this path towards “Think Blue.”, being the Volkswagen company’s attitude towards ecological sustainability.”

This is the new TV campaign for VW. This is a time lapse video of someone hand illustrating the history of VW. This demonstrates that the use of the hand made is still able to be present in TV advertising through  the use of mixed media.

“I have designed my personal promo cards in reference to my latest project – thread embroidered typography. During the process of biulding simple letters and shapes I wanted to find another unexpected graphic form. At this stage I started to experiment with thread embroidering letters on paper. Cards are handmade in limited edition, I have used several colors of thread and 250gsm black paper.” Nina Gregier

Jason Dean: Day & Night

“The freaks come out at night! By day, this glow-in-the-dark poster features a quaint city scene. But when the lights go out, a town full of crime, sex, guns and zombies (and a few extra hidden surprises) appears.”

This hand pulled screen printed piece has been printed using 9 layers of ink, including 2 phosphorescent inks for the glow in the dark effect. It shows what can be produced by the makers hand and what traditional print methods can acheive as opposed to a digital print run.

While looking through the blogs that I am follwing I found this creative promotion pack sent to creative agency 300,000,000.

This is very unique!! And probably very effective too. If someone sent that to my office I certainly wouldn’t forget it in a hurry!
