This is amazing! Hand drawn portrait using different tones of pen and spiral motions. Very clever and innovative.

“I believe that one of the main reasons I enjoy the paper craft, is due to my love of the material: paper. Although I’ve always had a special fascination for paper, it has taken me a while to find my own way of working with it; and then it took a little longer to find out that the technique I have been using so intensively is called quilling – it involves the use of strips of paper that can be rolled, shaped, and glued to the background.”
Phantom City: Kim Bouvy
“Outside, the city has ceased to exist. From this point on, I will be able only to evoke it from my memories, to see it in these few photos I managed to bring with me. When my own memory eventually abandons me, this collection of yellowing newspaper cuttings, crumpled snapshots and torn out pictures will continue to remind me of how the city was before everything changed. From this dusky non-space with no night or day, I shall attempt to constantly reconstruct my city out of ever less clearly defined memories.”

FMP Research: Lomo Magazines
“I decided to create my own Lomo LCA exhibition/celebration of the camera. I created a magazine that can that documents my time in New York including places I visited – such as Coney Island and some of the events that took place whilst I was there. I designed the magazine with the intention of creating other variations based in different locations around the world I also have visited, with Stockholm, Barcelona and London coming soon.”

“Home is where ___ .”
“This book was produced in response to a brief asking us to define ‘home’. As I have been living away from home for the last 6 years I decided to finish off the sentence with ‘where you make it your home’.”

Chris Natrop
“Natrop’s work features installations of fibrious paper cut outs that immediatly give the feeling of soft fabrics and spiderwebs. Not of all his work consists of these paper cut out installations. His work encompasses a multitude of forms and the paper cutouts can easily become static, wall-mounted pieces of art.”
This is the idea I had for my book cover design, creating cut out pieces of design and then hanging them, lighting the pieces and casting a shadow against the wall to create a shadow. I would then photograph the pieces to create my cover desgin. This piece of work is the perfect example of showing what my intentions are.

Inspiration: Handmade Typography
I really like these letters by Sabeena Karnik. it is very reminiscent of Yulia Brodskaya’s work, hand curled paper quils arranged to make a textured letterform. It is a very simple design and very has a very elegant feel to it.
Inspiration: Kennedy Garrett
These pictures are really lovely. They are by an artist and designer called Kennedy Garrett. The silhouette shapes have been cut out with a black sky line silhouette placed underneath with a very bright watercolour effect sky. They are a very nice piece of design.
